Lakshmi Kashyap

Counsellor

5 Year of Experience

I work with individuals, couples, and families who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in repeating patterns, or unsure of how to move forward in their relationships or personal lives. Many people who come to me are not broken — they are simply tired of carrying things alone and are looking for a space where they can slow down, reflect, and feel understood.

Therapeutic Approach – My Master’s training is in Marriage and Family Therapy, and this shapes how I understand emotional concerns — within the context of relationships, family systems, and lived experiences. My approach is friendly, warm, and humanistic. I place strong importance on building rapport and nurturing a safe, supportive professional relationship where clients feel respected and genuinely heard. I integrate CBT, attachment-based work, emotion-focused and trauma-informed approaches, along with practical tools that clients can use in everyday life. I pay close attention to emotional patterns, communication styles, boundaries, and how stress and unresolved experiences show up both within the self and in relationships.
Credentials & What Drives Me – Over the years, I have supported clients facing relationship conflict, marital dissatisfaction, family-of-origin issues, people-pleasing patterns, anxiety, emotional burnout, trauma responses, parenting stress, identity confusion, and major life transitions such as separation or caregiving challenges. Clients often describe sessions as grounding, relatable, and honest — a space where they can speak freely without judgement.
Take the First Step – If you are feeling emotionally heavy, disconnected, or simply want to understand yourself better, you are welcome to begin. You do not need to have everything figured out — we will work through it together. When you feel ready, you can book a session and take the first step toward clarity, balance, and healthier relationships.

What clients can expect

My professional experience helps me look beyond surface-level concerns and understand the patterns behind a client’s thoughts and emotions. I use practical, evidence-based tools while also creating a safe space where clients feel heard and understood. Over time, this helps them regulate their emotions better, make healthier choices, improve relationships, and grow in both their personal and professional lives.
Academic & Clinical Foundation : I hold a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology. I also have certifications in Trauma-informed therapy and Couples Counselling.
Assessment & Therapeutic Experience : I have worked with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, low mood, relationship concerns, life transitions, and workplace stress. My approach is integrative — I draw from CBT, REBT, EFT and person-centered techniques, but I tailor the process to each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. This has helped me understand the impact of family dynamics, cultural expectations, and stigma around mental health. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, while also gently guiding them toward insight, emotional regulation, and practical change.
Multidisciplinary & Rehabilitation Work : My areas of expertise include anxiety and mood disorders, relationship and family dynamics, emotional regulation, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns. I particularly focus on helping clients build insight, resilience, and practical coping strategies within the socio-cultural context.
Current Counselling: I currently work as a counselling psychologist, providing individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy to adolescents and adults. I support clients experiencing anxiety, mood concerns, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, and life transitions, with a focus on emotional regulation and building healthier coping patterns.

How My Experience Guides You

My approach is integrative and client-centered. While I draw from evidence-based practices like CBT, EFT, and REBT, I believe therapy should feel collaborative rather than prescriptive. I value empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity, especially within the Indian context where family systems and social expectations play a strong role. I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space, while also gently encouraging accountability and growth. My goal is not just symptom relief, but helping clients build insight, resilience, and long-term emotional well-being.

A Personal Word for You

If you’re reaching out for support, I want you to know that it’s okay to not have everything figured out right now. Taking this step itself shows courage. Whatever you’re carrying — confusion, fear, sadness, or overwhelm — you don’t have to hold it alone. You deserve a space where you can speak openly, be heard without judgment, and move at your own pace. Healing doesn’t require you to be “strong” all the time — it simply asks you to be willing. I’m here to walk alongside you through that process.
