I am a passionate Mental Health Counselor with over 8 years of experience working with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Over the past decade I have provided a safe and nurturing space for people including children, youth, and adults to navigate their mental health journeys. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding and a deep commitment to build a therapeutic alliance in fostering resilience, confidence and overall well-being.In addition to my dual Master’s Degrees in Psychology and Counseling, I have accumulated a number of academic and professional certifications in Positive Psychology, Psychological First-Aid, Positive Intelligence and Mindfulness-based techniques, which not just broaden my knowledge base but enhance my expertise to customize the therapeutic techniques and tools to suit the unique needs for each individual.Throughout my professional career, I have supported people in managing a broad range of mental health challenges – including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues and traumatic experiences by leveraging evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution Focused and Strength-based approaches. I choose approaches which focus on building skills, developing strengths and resilience for boosting one’s confidence, self-esteem and well-being necessary for one to flourish. I connect with this perspective because it encourages a collaboration between the therapist and the individual and prioritizes on the well-being of the person. It encourages the individuals to act as an expert to explore their strengths, abilities and the resources within them and decide how they can apply these to specific areas of their life, to deal with their conflicts, effectively to cope with stressful situations, and find solutions to their problems.I believe that every person deserves and needs a safe space where they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment.
